Invest in JASBX instead of money market fund
Short term TIPS are good alternative to Money Market funds. I personally use JASBX. But you have to be careful on how much cash you might need immediately.

Short term bonds better investment than long term bonds
According to latest projects, Fed might not increase rates till 2nd half of 2014. It means that Bonds can continue to enjoy decent returns for another year or two.
I am leaning towards investing in short term bonds to reduce my risk. As charts below show my reasoning:
